Reflections on 1918 a one act play by Tom Flannery World Premiere
"Ever heard of the epidemic of 1918? Probably not. 675,000 American’s like me and my fiancée and my crazy brother died in a 10 month period. During the last week of October 2700 American men died in what somebody called the “Sausage Grinder” in the Great War. During that same week 21,000 died at home of what you people now call the flu. What sounds more romantic to you? Is it any wonder that nobody remembers then?" |
